From the construction of a new border wall to the renegotiation of NAFTA, the US-Mexico border is the focus of many possible changes under the new US administration as well as increased tension between the US and one of Texas' biggest trading partners - Mexico. In order to broaden perspectives on these topics, Austin Tan Cerca de la Frontera, the Teresa Lozano Long Institute of Latin American Studies (LLILAS), Center for Mexican American Studies (CMAS), and the Gender & Sexuality Center are co-sponsoring a bi-national forum on April 27, 2017, to discuss how the future of trade under the new administration might impact citizens working on both sides of the border as well as assessing the relationship between trade and the flux of internal migration along the highly politicized southern border of the U.S. Refreshments provided.
