The Secret Life of Trade Agreements: How Central American Children Bear the Brunt

The biggest secret about US "free" trade deals with Mexico and Central America (NAFTA and CAFTA) is that they are complete failures, and while they have benefited elites, they have further impoverished poor working people and run small farmers off their land (1 million of them in Mexico; 5 million counting families). Yet they are being used as models for the biggest one yet--the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) which is expected to displace 1.2 to 1.5 million jobs from Mexico and Central America to Vietnam.  Every job displaced means a parent gone and children stranded.
Obama has scheduled the TPP for "fast-track" passage through Congress in October.  What are you going to do about it?  Gather together for a teach-in as we discover what we can do together in a campaign against the TPP.
