January 2015 Delegation to the Texas/Mexico Border

Stand in solidarity with maquiladora workers!  In 1994, NAFTA was passed. By attacking workers’ rights and the environment, it has delivered grossly enlarged profits to multinational corporations. Then came CAFTA with more of the same.  TPP is on the horizon.

Our 3-day delegation takes you into the homes and communities of women and men who work in the maquiladoras (foreign-owned factories) that produce for US consumption.  This is a listening expedition.  Learn how our Mexican partners, the CFO, have been using popular education and collective strategic action to negotiate and defend labor, human and women’s rights for 30 years.

We'll also be celebrating The Day of Three Kings during the delegation!

$325 fee includes transportation from Austin, translation, food, lodging, orientation and background information. Passport required. $100 deposit and registration deadline: December 20th.   For questions and registration: Charles at crand@austincc.edu.  Some partial scholarships available. Please visit us at atcf.org and like us on facebook.  Solidaridad pʼ siempre!
